The recent heavy rains in Southeast and Southwest Missouri have stirred up the pests.  Soggy conditions are favorable to a variety of pests, including springtails (tiny insects that “jump” when disturbed) and clover mites (tiny red bugs commonly misidentified as chiggers).  The rainfall also triggers extra movement by ants – sometimes because their nest has been flooded; sometimes because their food supply has been washed away.  If you are experiencing extra pest activity due to the weather, call Bug Zero for decisive action.
