Our Team

The Bug Zero team are licensed pest exterminators.

We’re proud of our certifications:

  • Bug Zero has two full-time entomologists on staff.
  • Bug Zero is licensed in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas.
  • Each Bug Zero technician is required to complete a Pest Control Technology course from Purdue University.
  • Several of our certified technicians have completed the Purdue University Intermediate-Level Urban and Industrial Integrated Pest
Management course. Many have also done the National Pest Management Association’s Food Safety Pest Management for Food Plants training.
  • Several of Bug Zero’s technicians have completed courses in Global Solutions for Mosquito Control from Clarke Mosquito Control.
  • Bug Zero is an approved member of VendorMate.

Our philosophy for pest control is based on two simple ideas:

  • You shouldn’t have to put up with ants in your kitchen, roaches that aggravate asthma and allergies, rodents that transmit disease, spiders that bite, or other pest problems in your home.
  • Just as important, you shouldn’t have to worry about the possible impact of sprays or other measures used to control pests in your home environment.

If you still think of pest control as “bug bombs” that force you out of your home, indiscriminate sprays in areas where children or pets may play, or bad odors that take days to disappear, there is good news. The pest control professionals at Bug Zero have the training and the modern tools needed to rid your home of unwanted pests — without making your home environment unpleasant or inhospitable for you.

Did you know:

A few dime-sized dabs of insect bait, placed where children or pets can’t reach them, can often control insects even better than widespread spraying

Simple, low-cost home repairs can assist in solving many pest problems

A good pest control technician’s most important tool is not his sprayer—it’s his flashlight

Our pest control professionals will work with you to control pests in a way that fits your lifestyle. They’re trained in the biology and behavior of insects and other pests. They know how, when, and where to use minimally intrusive smart controls. They also have access to the newest and most innovative pest control technology and equipment. Together, it helps provide a more pleasant home environment for you and your family.

Ivan

Owner & Company Founder

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, Ivan operated the family farm with his brother for eight years. Looking for new challenges he accepted a position with a pest control company in 1990. His degree enabled him to be certified quickly and he became fascinated by the business. Most importantly, he determined there were many areas of pest control that could be safer and more efficient. Eager to employ these concepts, Ivan founded Bug Zero out of his garage.

Ivan has served on the Board of Directors for the MO Pest Management Association, including two years as president, and sat on the Commercial Services Committee for the National Pest Management Association. Ivan is currently on the Board of Directors for Associated Pest Control Services and the Springfield Executive Breakfast Club, where he was president in 2007.

As the saying goes, “you can take the boy off the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the boy.” Ivan spends his spare time working on food plots, trimming trees, hunting, and all things outdoors.
