Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to answer all of your questions about our exterminator services.

Whether it’s your first time dealing with unwanted pests or your fifth time, there are a lot of pest control questions that you may have when it comes to these unexpected creatures. If you have any questions that aren’t answered below, feel free to call our pest control business experts.

Is that stuff safe?

This is a loaded question. “Safe” is a relative term. Water is not only safe, but a necessity of life if used correctly. If you hold someone’s head under water for too long, however, it is unsafe. Our materials have been rigorously tested to be effective and safe to use according to each product’s label which is approved by the EPA. And, our technicians have been trained to follow safety procedures.

I don’t like the thought of pesticides in my home, but I’ve got to do something about these bugs. What can you do for me?

The exact answer depends on the pest. A Bug Zero technician begins by inspecting to determine the target pest(s). A remedy can be prescribed based on that pest’s life cycle, preferred harborage, food source, etc. Target specific materials are available for some pests. For instance, tiny amounts of cockroach bait placed directly into the cracks these pests inhabit can quickly and effectively eliminate the problem with no odor, no airborne particles and almost no risk of accidental human exposure.

I have ants in my house every spring. Is there some way to prevent them?

Yes there is. The old adage about an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure was never truer than when applied to ants. Records indicate that clients on a regular maintenance schedule rarely have ants. This is in part due to the fact that we are able to address developing populations before the customer ever notices the first ant.

Where does Bug Zero offer pest control services?

We often hear questions like, “Do you come all the way to Nixa?” Bug Zero’s offices are located in Southwest Missouri and Southeast Missouri, but our service areas extend several counties out from our offices. We are also licensed to provide pest control services in Arkansas and Kansas. See our Service Area Map or give us a call for more details on the communities we serve.

Can you mix it extra strong?

There is a common misconception that the stronger a pest control solution is mixed, the more effective it becomes. This is certainly not true and is even dangerous. Bug Zero follows all manufacturers’ recommendations in determining concentration levels. The key factor in controlling pests is using the appropriate product in the right place. Our technicians are trained specialists in determining the right combinations for the most effective control.

I keep my home clean. Why do I have bugs?

Cleanliness is helpful to us in eliminating pests for you. However, cleanliness alone cannot assure that you won’t get bugs. Some bugs hitch a ride in on groceries, outdoor sporting gear, or even on your clothing. Once inside, many pests can find plenty to eat in the cleanest home.

What kind of tools do you use for extermination?

We use a wide range of tools for pest extermination. Three of our larger tools include a perimeter treatment vehicle, mosquito fogger and bed bug heater. Learn more about these here, and for questions on other tools we use give us a call.
